Watwet is a small startup based out in Amman, Jordan. We focus on social networking, citizen media and mobile.
The Team of Watwet
Karim Arafat - Founder & CEO
Karim is 29 years old. He lived most of his life in Amman, but also lived for short periods in Japan, Canada, England and Italy. Karim spends most of his time talking to mobile operators and media companies, refining the business model of Watwet, and contributing to the product development. He is interested mostly in new mobile trends, web standards and creating partnerships. On a personal level, he enjoys gossiping with girls mostly, reading best-seller books :) and swimming in weekends when possible.
Andreas Pieper - Founder & CTO
You can call him, Andi. Andi is 40 years old. He currently resides in the beautiful city of Berlin. Originally he is from Austria, which explains his sharp sense of humor. Using his Macbook, Andi spends most of his time applying his magic, skill and experience to the Watwet code base, integrations with mobile operators' networks and administrating our small farm of servers. He is a big proponent of open source technologies, and has been doing Ruby on Rails for the past 4 years. Recently he has been interested in Erlang and developing for the iPhone. On a personal level, he really enjoys F1 and robotics.
Waheed Barghouthi - Ruby on Rails Developer
Waheed is 23 year old. He is the spoiled kid in the team. He ditched .NET framework because he just fell in love with Ruby on Rails. Waheed fires up his Ubuntu OS every day to spend most of his time developing over the Watwet code base, and by doing this, he is growing day by day to be a bigger beliver in the power of Rails. He is developing interest in Python for mobiles and Amazon Web Services (AWS). He is also a big fan of open source technologies. On a personal level, he enjoys socializing with people, taking new challenges, and reading best-seller books :). He is also working on a few personal side projects related to citizen media and mobile services.
